On the brink of nuclear war: Trump demands Iran surrender "before it's too late"

In the wake of Israel's recent military attacks on Tehran , the capital of Iran, US President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to the Iranian regime over its lack of agreements to prevent further escalation of the war.

The US president issued a stark warning about future Israeli attacks and the United States' heightened military preparedness , amid growing rumors about the possible use of nuclear weapons.

Trump's ultimatum to Iran

“I told them it would be far worse than they know, anticipated, or were told: that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment in the world, by far, and that Israel has much, much more coming , and they know how to use it,” President Donald Trump wrote on social media.

The US president warned that the situation will worsen for Iran with the planned attacks, and therefore recommends reaching an agreement soon.

"Two months ago, I gave Iran a 60-day ultimatum to 'come to an agreement.' They should have done it! (...) Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!" he concluded.

What's going on between Israel and Iran?

Israel launched a "preemptive" airstrike against strategic targets in Tehran, escalating the conflict with Iran . The Israeli Defense Ministry declared a state of emergency, suspending activities and preparing for possible retaliation.

Iranian media reported explosions in the capital, while Israeli authorities anticipate missile and drone attacks. In response, Iran activated its highest military alert and launched more than 100 drones toward Israel , most of which were intercepted.

Senior Iranian officials and nuclear scientists were killed in the bombings. However, there is no official evidence that Iran plans to use nuclear weapons in retaliation. False messages attributing nuclear threats to the Iranian government are circulating online, but international analysts have so far ruled out a nuclear scenario.
